R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Respect, what is it? Are people just entitled to have it? Man I get that all the time. You may not like me but at least you should respect me. I demand your respect. I think that's BOGUS! People don’t deserve anything... it is completely EARNED. You do NOT get my respect just because you breathe, or go to school with me, or even birthed me. I think repsect can be lost by an action or quarrel. Just as it can be lost you can also earn it back. it takes time but you can it is just like trust. I think they kind of go hand in hand. You trust someone you respect and you respect someone that you trust.

    anyways i guess i will retype.
    so why do i have to earn your respect but you demand it of me. If we base respect as our only gauge on a person, then when they lose that respect we will never talk to them again. If we never talk to them again how can we ever expect for them to gain our respect back. I believe in respect but also forgiveness. i think this happens a lot with ex's. anyways we are quick to remove our respect from others yet we question when others lose their respect for us.

    i agree that im most situation that you have earn respect. like in a sports team you have to prove yourself in order to get respect. so i totally agree/relate

    I never said I demand anyones repsect by all maens get to know me then if you like who I am or how I am then you can respect me....If you don't like me it's not like you would respect me anyways. If you loe respect for someone there HAS to be a clear reason for it. As for the ex part yeah you lose repsect and don't talk but if the other person really wants they would be willing to find a way to earn that repsect back... they would make an effort to get it back. As for forgiveness of course there should be forgiveness but that doesn't mean the person has the ability to be esteemed the way they were before. Their actions come with consequences... losing repsect and trust in them are some....
